UPDATE on July 19: About 20 neighbors participated in the Meet-up last night. The Jammin’ Fil-Ams band got folks dancing. The band usually performs on Friday evenings but made a special Tuesday appearance just for us. Special thanks to Table 29 and the Doubletree for making us feel so welcome.
My closest friends in our Hiddenbrooke neighborhood are all people who I first met at the potluck Open Houses that were held when we first moved here, and later the Social Dinners at the Hiddenbrooke Golf Club. I miss them. OK, the food at the Club usually wasn’t that great, and the lack of local wines was embarrassing, but we all managed to have a great time enjoying each others’ company. That’s why I’m so excited that the Table 29 Bistro & Bar at the Doubletree hotel in American Canyon which is just 6 miles from our front door is looking to pick up where the Golf Club left off.
You’ve probably driven past the Doubletree a bunch of times and never gave it a thought. But Lane Cayford and John Heckaman who live a couple doors from us suggested we all go there. When I first visited, I was thrilled to discover a tranquil retreat with a vibrant social calendar (see photo). Lani Saavedra, the Sales Coordinator there, was very welcoming when I approached her about bringing our group. Restaurant Supervisor Anahi Arredondo will be welcoming us for a Hiddenbrooke Neighbor Meet-up @ Table 29 Bistro & Bar at the Doubletree hotel in American Canyon on Tuesday, July 18 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. The full bar and appetizer menu will be available for purchase in their outdoor lounge area with happy hour pricing for the first hour and live music by the Jammin’ Fil-Ams until 8:30pm. RSVPs are not necessary. The restaurant will remain open until 10:00 p.m. if you want to stay for dinner. We are hoping this later start time frame will be better for those work commuters who have felt left out.

P.S. Please take note Hiddenbrooke Golf Course. I’ve been told the golf course used to be like this back in the day. Maybe Taco Tuesday will help set the stage for a comeback… 🌮
I had class and hate that I had to miss this! I’ve always wondered what the vibe was like at that Doubletree. Is there another date set for a meet there yet?
