I’ve enjoyed sharing recommendations about local businesses and interests on this Hiddenbrooke Neighbor Exchange website. But I haven’t published so much these last few years as my attention soared beyond our beautiful Hiddenbrooke Hills. For example, this spring my wife and I explored for 2 wonderful weeks in Western Ireland. You can read about our adventures at https://neighborexchange.org/irelandmay2026/. Last Spring, we traveled for a couple weeks through France and the Basque region on the France-Spain border. You can read about that trip at https://neighborexchange.org/francemay2025/.
After this last trip, as I made my morning walk around Bennington Drive, a neighbor joked, “Did you buy a house there?” I smiled and said we considered it. But the truth is, each time we’re returned from our European vacations, we’ve felt invigorated by the international culture and history and folklore and cuisine, but also felt so grateful to be back in our Hiddenbrooke Hills. It’s true that there’s no place like home.
Do you have any travel stories that you want to share with our Hiddenbrooke neighbors? How about local restaurants or other places nearby that you are eager to recommend? Type your thoughts in the comments section below and we will help spread the word.
