Glamorous Airport Travel

There’s absolutely nothing glamorous about air travel these days… except for the service provided by Bruce Pollard of BAP Transportation Services.  Here in Hiddenbrooke we are fortunate to live near several airports, and Bruce has transported my wife and I to many of them: San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, and San Jose.  As soon as we book our flights, we check-in with Bruce to see if he will be available.  He lives here in Hiddenbrooke, so he picks us up at our front door in his spacious and comfortable Honda Pilot, gets us to the airport in plenty of time with sparkling conversation and expert knowledge of all the back roads.  His neighborly rate is comparable to what we would pay for Uber’s XL level service or for another private car service. 

That would be enough, but there’s more.  If he’s available, Bruce also arranges to pick us up at the airport on our return and brings us home with the same style and professionalism.  When our flight is late, as it more often is…  Bruce already knows before we text him because he’s watching our flight schedule online.  Several times our flight delays meant he was picking us up well after midnight.  That peace-of-mind feeling after an extended-hour travel challenge is like no other.  

Bruce has a background in the travel business in particular and customer service in general.  He tells me that he worked for his father’s travel agency business for over 30 years.  For those of you who don’t remember, ask your parents what travel agencies were before the Internet decimated them.

Besides being an airport transporter,  Bruce drives people on wine tasting excursions, dinner reservations, medical appointments, into San Francisco for cruise departures, concerts, sporting events, etc.  Bruce has relied entirely on neighbor references to grow his business. Based on his local reputation, he could easily hire more drivers to work for him.  But Bruce has decided that being an employer is about as glamorous as being an air traveler.
