Tracy Lovelis’ luxury dog bathing mobile spa named Tracy’s K9 Suds on the Run is a stress free environment that comes right to your home. You can’t miss the attractive van when it’s parked around our neighborhood. The van is always shiny and clean. Just like the dogs after Tracy scrubs them. She will be quick to tell you that she is not a pet groomer; she only washes, dries, and brushes them, and trims their nails.
Tracy lives in American Canyon and she didn’t start out to be a business owner, but it’s where she’s ended up after 20 years of hunter/jumper horse competitions, and working for others in doggie daycare, boarding, and training facilities. She says her passion in life has always been caring for animals. And her passion shows. When we reached out to several dog groomers in the Hiddenbrooke area, Tracy’s name quickly rose to the top of our list after just a brief phone conversation. Because we thought our pandemic rescue dogs had never been bathed professionally, Tracy offered to drop by our house when she was in the neighborhood just to meet them. Our 14-year-old border collie sisters were skittish, but Tracy was patient and caring, so we set an appointment for her to return the next time she would be in Hiddenbrooke. Once we got the first dog into her van and she got to work, she remarked ever-so casually “They’ve done this before. But that doesn’t mean they like it.” Her professionalism and good humor put us… and our dogs.. at ease.
But when you reach out to her, don’t mention the Westminster Dog Show. She still hasn’t gotten over that the Australian Shepherd didn’t take best-in-show this year. Since 1994, Tracy and her husband have trained and run eight Australian Shepherd champions in agility, and their ninth is just beginning. When it comes to training and showing champions, Tracy is not washed up!
